California Institutes New Bat Standards In Baseball

In response to several well-publicized head-injury cases suffered last season by high school baseball players due to balls struck off metal bats, the California Interscholastic Federation has instituted new rules to reduce the potency of bats. The new standard is aimed at decreased bat performance by 10 to 15 percent.
