Heat Index Climbs To 120, Memphis Schools Cancel Practice Indefinitely

It could be a slow start to the fall sports season in Memphis this year as the heat index hit 120 Wednesday and city schools athletic director Smokey Gaines said outdoor practices are suspended indefinitely. With school starting next week, practice time is limited but Gaines isn't budging on his stance, so he can protect athletes' safety.
