Racial Divide Between 1st & 3rd Base Coaches In MLB

According to a study by The New York Times, 67 percent of first-base coaches in Major League Baseball are minority-group members while only 23 percent of third-base coaches are minorities. Third-base coaches generally make more money and that position receives greater praise and recognition due to the increased responsibilities of sending runners home or holding them on third.
